Member Self-Service Portal

The Member Portal is Ascent’s end-user-facing experience. It gives applicants and existing members a secure, centralized place to view and manage their applications, respond to requests, connect external accounts, and track submitted information.

Designed to be simple, mobile-friendly, and easy to navigate, the portal helps reduce confusion and keeps members informed throughout their interactions with your institution.

Accessing the Member Portal

Members can access the portal in one of three ways:

  • By completing an application and choosing to register at the end of the form

  • By receiving an email or SMS notification from your institution that includes a portal link

  • By visiting the direct portal URL provided by your institution

Once registered, members can log in securely using their email and password.

What Members Can Do in the Portal

The Member Portal is not a static tool — it is tailored in real time to reflect the current status and needs of the member. Features may include:

  • View in-progress applications Members can resume any partially completed application, or view the status of submitted ones.

  • Complete outstanding requests If the institution has requested a document upload or additional data, members will see the request clearly labelled, and can respond with just a few clicks.

  • Track submitted information Members can view which documents have been submitted, what’s still missing, and the outcome of reviews if enabled.

  • Connect external data sources If requested, members can connect to tools like Plaid (for banking data), QuickBooks (for accounting data), or IRS (for tax transcripts). These integrations are secure and time-limited, and only active if your institution has enabled them.

  • View historical interactions Members can revisit previously submitted forms and download submitted documents if your institution permits.

  • Manage personal information Depending on the configuration, members may be able to update their contact details, view stored financial data, or manage their communication preferences.

White Label Branding

The Member Portal inherits your institution’s branding — including logo, colour scheme, typography, and even the domain name (if configured). This ensures that members see a consistent and trustworthy experience that reflects your institution, not a third-party platform.

Security

All activity in the Member Portal is tracked and auditable. Sensitive information is encrypted at rest and in transit. No data is shared with third parties unless explicitly required by your institution and permitted by the member during their interaction.
